1) Arrival
[Before you knew it, the world you were in had gone dark. Why or even how wasn't exactly clear, but the moment you wake up, you find that you are not where you were before. Instead there appears to be a small village, but it's dark and the people appear to not be leaving there houses anytime soon. Why weren't they? Perhaps looking around might wield results.]

2) Monster Attack
[Just outside the village creatures appear to be wondering around. If you come too close they will attack. Sharp claws swinging towards whoever crosses there path. Avoid or counter?]

3) What the hell?!
[In the woods, if one were to wonder further enough they would come across a circle and a bunch of cloak people, kneeling down and bowing down toward the center. Whatever was going on it was certainly odd.]

[Similarly her scent hasn’t left his thoughts, he is most certain that it never would. He doesn’t mind, he likes the scent and thinking back on it brings a comforting familiarity. It’s been only a few hours and he missed her and now he is most likely miles away from her.

Or that’s what he thought.

The wind shifts making her scent and her call reach him at the same time. His head snaps towards her, his lips tugging into a smile while his eyebrows furrowed slightly.]

Cat? You were taken too, are you okay?

[humsthemelody]

[Taken. That one word sends a chill of completely unbridled terror through her stomach and she wraps her arms around herself as though it's going to protect her from the very idea.

Taken. She'd been taken 20 years ago, away from her family. Her home. Her life. Everything. And now...it had happened again. Suddenly, nothing about their surroundings was interesting or curious. She just wanted to hear her brother's voice.]

I...yeah...I guess so...

[were_ranger]

[David immediately regrets his choice of words. He really is the biggest idiot ever. He steps up next to Cat and wraps his arms around her shoulders.]

Hey, hey, it's okay. We're fine right? It'll be okay.

[He doesn't know if it will be but he had a strange amount of faith in himself. He'd do anything to get Cat home safely.]

[humsthemelody]

[Cat's doing her best to fight back the tears that are threatening to spill from her eyes, but she's not doing a very good job of it.]

...David, I'm scared...I don't want to be here. I want to call my brother. I was supposed to last night, and now I can't...

[She leans against him slightly, her arms still wrapped around her stomach defensively.]

[were_ranger]

[David holds her a little tighter, bringing his voice to her ear.]

Look, we don't know where we are but that doesn't mean anything bad is going to happen. I'm sorry I said it like that. We'll go to town and see if we can find a phone. We'll work through this.

[He begins to lightly pet her hair.]

Together, okay.

[humsthemelody]

[She sniffs and looks up to him. The tears in her eyes are drying up. Something about the way he touches her is comforting, and it makes her feel safe.]

Okay. [She swallows.] None of this smells right.

[were_ranger]

[His thumb lightly wipes along the bottom of her eyes, smearing away any excess tears.]

I know but then I've never left Montana. [Except one really weird scuba trip.] So it might just be new.

Let's see what we can find out first.

[humsthemelody]

[She nods, sniffing again.]

I know, but...this place doesn't smell anything like Montana, or any place in between Montana and New York...

Step one. Figure out where we are.

[He smiles down at her. He doesn't want to let her go but he realizes that he'll need to.]

Step two. Find the way home.

[She nods, standing a little straighter. Having a plan makes her feel better, and not being alone helps, too.]

Okay. So. Where should we start with step one?

[She looks around.]

Maybe that building with the lights on?

Sounds like a good place; it looks like an Inn so they might have some food too.

[Not that David has money on him, or anything for that matter but he is still hopeful.]

Come on.

[He finally lets Cat go, missing her the instant she leaves his arms. He takes her hand in his and then walks towards the town.]

[She nods, allowing herself to be led by the hand toward the inn.]

Do...you think they'll let us do dishes for food?

[were_ranger]

We can only hope.

[He looks at her with a smile.]

I might not look it but I'm very good at doing dishes.

[Rebecca makes him.]

[She giggles, slowly relaxing with David there.]

I believe that. I bet your mom makes you do dishes all the time.

[were_ranger]

Yes... she does.

[David can't help but laugh.]

It looks like there is a light on in the Inn. That might be a good place to start.

[She rewards him with a slight laugh of her own.]

Moms are really good at that.

[She nods, following his gaze to the inn.]

Yeah, it looks like a good place to me.
