- Either use one of the prompts or you can make your own.
- Have fun.
★ Prompts
1) Arrival
[Before you knew it, the world you were in had gone dark. Why or even how wasn't exactly clear, but the moment you wake up, you find that you are not where you were before. Instead there appears to be a small village, but it's dark and the people appear to not be leaving there houses anytime soon. Why weren't they? Perhaps looking around might wield results.]
2) Monster Attack
[Just outside the village creatures appear to be wondering around. If you come too close they will attack. Sharp claws swinging towards whoever crosses there path. Avoid or counter?]
3) What the hell?!
[In the woods, if one were to wonder further enough they would come across a circle and a bunch of cloak people, kneeling down and bowing down toward the center. Whatever was going on it was certainly odd.]
4) Wildcard

Wild Card!
Soon enough she found the source. Ruby stood behind a nearby tree and peeked out enough to see a gentle looking man talking to... himself? No, that wasn't right. He was talking to the woods. To nature. The human part of her wanted to think that was strange, but the wolf inside understood. The longer she watched him the stronger the pull to approach him became, but how could she know if he was actually safe? He looked it, but...
She couldn't make up her mind one way or another, so she decided to linger a bit longer. ]
Wild Card!
Dry bark greets him, before he pushes away and turns. His back rests against the bark before he slides down the short length of the tree. He wonders who it is but he isn't about to be rude about it. The palm of his hand runs through his short black hair before speaking. His watery blue eyes find a comfortable place on the ground to stare at.]
I won't hurt you. [His voice is light and easy. He knows that she'd be able to tell that he was telling the truth.]
I'm David.

The way he delayed made her nerves jumble even more, but when he spoke her body relaxed and she heaved a sigh of relief. He wasn't like her mother's pack. He was okay. The mention of his name made her slowly show her face from behind the tree, fingers grasping at the bark as she looked him over. ]
David?
[ That name was a comfort among all the unfamiliarity. He wasn't her David, of course not, but thinking of the friend that believed in her so fiercely when she didn't even trust herself let alone believe in herself gave her... hope. Maybe it was a sign.
She stepped out into view, her long brown waves shifting just slightly at the movement. Her lipstick was a bright red shade similar to the plaid jacket that she pulled closer to herself as she folded her arms. She was still hesitant, but maybe a little more optimistic. Snow would have told her to go for it, right? ]
David is a good name. [ She smiled lightly. ] You can call me Ruby. Or Red. They kind of mean the same thing anyway, right?
no subject
I like it.
[He'd been named after his father.]
Ruby or Red? [David's smile widens slightly.] Well, red is a color and colors often symbolize emotions. Ruby can be red but it's also a crystal. One that can grow within the plan earth and then be refined to shine. [He looks up at her with a smile and a raised eyebrow.]
You strike me as a Ruby.
no subject
[ She kind of hoped he took that as a hint that she'd like to get along.
At first she wasn't sure what he was getting at, but the more he spoke the wider that small smile grew. When he looked at her, she felt a wash of pink flush over her face. She hadn't really noticed at first, but he was super hot. And...
... had he just flirted with her?
She stared at him for just a second before lowering her gaze. Normally she wouldn't have batted an eye at flirting, but maybe it was the "this guy is actually another wolf" thing that made her feel a little more on the timid side than usual. ]
I didn't know I was tracking a tree hugger and a nerd.
no subject
Ah, you noticed?
[He's a really big nerd and knows a lot about nature.]
I can never be cool for very long. Of course, you did met me talking to a tree.
[His lips tug into a smug sort of grin.]
Great first impression?
no subject
[ She looked back up at him, smiling again. ]
It was sort of neat, actually. [ She actually wanted to say it was cute, but she didn't really have the nerve just yet. ] What did you and the trees talk about?
[ She asked with a bit of laughter to her voice, but she was genuine in wanting to know. ]
no subject
I'm happy to impress you. [She hadn't said impress but he's going with it. At her question he turns to look at the tree, his arms folded over his chest with a thoughtful expression.]
Not very much, to be completely honest. [A soft sigh falls from his lips and he looks over at Ruby.] I was tell the tree about my forest and how it can grow but the feeling is very far away. I don't think this forest died of normal means and I don't think it's completely dead.
[It's just a feeling he gets but he wants to restore the forest.]
no subject
You should be. I don't get impressed without a good reason to be.
[ Being okay with the teasing was an added bonus.
The smile slowly fell away, though, when he spoke of the forest. She felt a sympathy for it too, she realized. She crossed her arms and furrowed her eyebrows, hoping that maybe he knew what they could do. ]
Do you think we could save it then?
no subject
I'm going to do everything I can to try.
[His bright eyes are looking at the trees now, a deep hurt reflected in the light blue hue.]
No forest should be left in this state...
no subject
David?
[ She ventured a step closer, her own eyes echoing her concern. ]
I know we just met and all, but... things usually get done faster with two people, right? [ She paused, a small laugh escaping. ] Or two wolves in this case.
no subject
Thanks Ruby. You're right, of course.
[He isn't always that smart.]
They're might be more people who can help too.
no subject
[ She smiled playfully but sincerely. She didn't know what a real pack was like, but she had never stopped wanting to know. Maybe he could tell her someday. ]
Did someone else offer?
no subject
[David runs his hands through his hair again.]
And if he's helping who knows, maybe others want to also.
no subject
[ She gave a moment of thought. ]
There's someone from back where I'm from that ended up here too, actually. She's mega smart, so I think she could help too. I know she'd want to, at least. She kind of likes to help everyone.
no subject
[Can describing someone as a wizard be a descriptor? Probably not so David just leaves out that piece of information.]
That sounds like a good person to have here.
no subject
[ She hated to admit how relieved she was that Belle was there considering how horrible it was, but Ruby was the type that always felt more secure when she had a friend by her side. Over the years she'd had to make her own sort of pack. ]
People tend to underestimate her, though shortly after is when they always go to her begging for ideas. [ She rolled her eyes. ] But you're right. She is good. Way too good to be in this situation.
[ She looked a little regretful then. This probably wasn't the kind of adventure Belle had in mind when she spoke of them. ]
no subject
Hey, hey hey hey hey heyheyhey.
[He crouches down to look directly into Ruby's eyes.]
No sad faces. We'll figure out what's going on here and get everyone home. Not one is trapped as long as we keep looking. [He's already made the mistake of saying something to that affect to someone else and it's stayed with him. After that he felt like he disappointed her.]
no subject
You really believe that, huh?
[ She searched his eyes, looking for evidence of the truth she was hoping for. ]
no subject
I do and you know what? Even if it's not true we can make it true because I might not be smart enough to do anything but I am certainly dumb enough to try.
[He's good at this inspirational speeches.]
no subject
She looked down momentarily, but when she raised her head again there was a smile as a small laugh escaped. ]
I think I kind of like that idea.
Handwave from here?
Let's find that town and head there for now. Maybe we'll find others.
