1) Arrival
[Before you knew it, the world you were in had gone dark. Why or even how wasn't exactly clear, but the moment you wake up, you find that you are not where you were before. Instead there appears to be a small village, but it's dark and the people appear to not be leaving there houses anytime soon. Why weren't they? Perhaps looking around might wield results.]

2) Monster Attack
[Just outside the village creatures appear to be wondering around. If you come too close they will attack. Sharp claws swinging towards whoever crosses there path. Avoid or counter?]

3) What the hell?!
[In the woods, if one were to wonder further enough they would come across a circle and a bunch of cloak people, kneeling down and bowing down toward the center. Whatever was going on it was certainly odd.]

Alright, but you asked for it. [Harry accentuated his point with a finger toward David before making a sweeping motion around the forest with a hand.]

Magic comes from life. It's all around us, inside all of us, and inside every living thing, even when they're close to death. [He made a point of mentioning things close to death, because something tells him his "dead" forest isn't as "dead" as it looks. It takes a lot of intent and a lot of power to kill something as old as an actual forest.] Magic works because, at even their most basic, living things just want to keep on living. It's about intent. Magic spreads faster through the intent of others. That's why us wizards can use it in the first place. When you talk to a plant, you encourage it to grow, to live. You're giving your influence and intention to it, and that's why life science is magic. People just don't get it.

[And, after pause to shift gears, the wizard nods.] Sure, David. Harry's fine.

[David listens like an eager puppy. His eyes shine like water, absorbing every bit of information that Harry throws his way. He wants to know more...]

I understand nature. [He smiles at a joke that skips through this thoughts.] If magic is really connected to it maybe I can give it a try. [This is said as more of a joke. Werewolves aren't known to be wizards.]

You should tell me more about magic. That sounds cool.

[He's giving you permission to geek out.]

[Harry raises a hand to stall his enthusiasm.]

Take it easy, David. Magic isn't something you pick up through a correspondence course. It takes years of practice, and there are laws in place that govern its use.

[He smiles, though. He appreciates the excitement.]

We're talking about the very fabric of life, here. I'll teach you how the world really works, but it's not something I can just explain, and we probably have more important things to worry about right now.

Ah, that's true.

[David's grin falters slightly though he keep his easy demeanor. If he's going to let transportation to another world pierce his cool composure he doesn't show it. That or he's very good at hiding how he feels.]

Honestly, I don't know many wizards. [Except he doesn't get out of his forest often.]

I have a friend of a friend who's a wizard. I assume that not all wizards know each other.

[It isn't like all werewolves know each other.]

Full wizards? Yeah. We typically at least know of each other.

[But Harry doesn't like how Oz-like this place feels, and that opens up a lot more possibilities than he cares to examine...except it's going to be necessary.]

Well, now you know one. [And most people on the Council would say that David had bad luck with this draw. He smiles.] So, have you seen any signs of people out here?

Just in town. There are some signs through the woods but no one lives here.

[His lips form a thin line while his eyes flicking around them momentarily. The lack of wildlife is unsettling and that isn't the only think about this forest that has David on edge.]

This whole place is odd.

[He sighs softly, he'd rather deal with the woods than the people.]

[Harry nods.]

I started getting that impression when I woke up in La-La Land without a ticket.

[He takes a breath.]

If we're going to look for answers, I don't think we're going to find them here. [And the wizard takes a look around. See? He can be serious.] Whatever happened to this forest is a symptom, not a cause.

[David has figured as much as well though hearing it from someone else just makes his sigh softly. The breath feels heavy as it leaves his chest, a familiar pain twisting in his stomach.]

We have to return home. [He has a family to protect.] But I can't leave this forest like this.

[He sounds almost resigned.]

So let's find the cause.

[He'll still probably build a house in the woods for himself.]

[Harry nods, in full agreement with David.]

If I have any experience with things like this, which I don't admittedly [At least not outside of books I've read] the way home is probably tied directly to whatever brought us here. Our being here might even be a by-product of whatever happened here.

It's possible.

[David lifts his shoulders in a shrug.]

I think just being here will give us answers but I'm a little to impatient to sit around and do nothing. I'm going to check out more of the forest. [And stop talking to trees.] I'll leave the town to you.

I've never been good at waiting for answers.

[Harry's more of a go-getter, really, but he nods.]

Be careful out there. Sometimes these shadows hunt in packs, and you're just one guy-er...wolf.

[David flashes Harry a smile before peeling away his shirt and then tossing it on the ground. He kicks off his shoes shortly after before stripping away the rest of his clothing.]

I'll just have to be faster than them.

[It'll be good exercise at least.]

Well, that's forward.

[Harry wasn't sure what he'd been expecting, but the guy to strip? Not on the list.

Oh. Wait.]

You're going to turn into a wolf, aren't you? Hold that thought, David. I'd like to ask you some questions first, and I suddenly feel over-dressed.

[David pauses, wearing only his underwear. He doesn't seem to bothered by this. In fact, he looks just as comfortable and easy going as before simply wearing less clothes. He gathers up his clothing and begins to hide it at the base of the tree.]

I am. What questions?

[Werewolves in David's world are more comfortable without clothes. Note to self: find an excuse not to attend the Werewolf Beach Party.]

Thanks. Okay, so. One. Where are you from?

Montana.

[He smiles.]

You can ask more than one at a time. I think I can keep up.

Montana. [That actually makes a surprising degree of sense.]

Can you tell me more about werewolves?

[David takes a seat and waits. He can't really talk as a wolf so he's going to make himself comfortable until he can. He looks up at Harry, finds the distance to look up uncomfortable and turns towards the ground to speak.]

Werewolves have habits very similar to wolves. They were first created by the Shapers who took an interest in wolves. They gave us a second form. [And a soul.] And we were to protect the natural wonders of the world. Forests for example.

That sounds like a pretty important job, there, David.

[Harry finds himself a seat, even though the guy is now in his underwear. He'd had more important conversations in less. It's not like he could judge the guy. Though, if someone had asked him yesterday, even though yesterday had meant galavanting through the Nevernever in search of Michael's lost daughter, if he'd be talking in a dead forest to a nearly naked werewolf, he probably would have told them to have their head examined.]

Shapers?

[David stifles a yawn. He forgot how tired he had been.]

I think so.

[He might fall asleep if he isn't careful.]

Shapers are what were's call them: Creators and Druids. They made werewolves and I'm sure other were's for different parts of the world. I haven't met many others.

Creators and Druids? [Harry's familiar with what a druid is, or at least he's fairly certain. They're wizards. They use large, nature-based foci like Stonehenge. They used fancy names.] What's a creator?

Um...

[David has to think about the best way to describe it because he's never met one before.]

I'm not 100% sure but they can create things... anything. [He waves his hands as if that explains it.] They turned wolves into people.

They can just...create things? [The name had suggested as much, but the concept was so far outside Harry's scope of understanding, he wasn't sure it was even possible.]

Yeah, I've never met one but they can create anything. That's how it's explained.

[He rolls his shoulders in a shrug and then regrets the action. The dry bark behind him scraps against his skin and while any small scratches heal it's still uncomfortable.]

They turned a wolf into a man and created the whole race after all.

[David doesn't actually know how that works.]

Pretty heavy stuff. [Harry's never heard of a race that could actually create. Even Angels can't do it to his knowledge.]
